2 Clinic Needs TDC is currently in the process of seeking one time start-up gifts as well as on-going partners: donors who will pledge towards a monthly or annual level of support. This will allow a sustainable income for operation (read below). It is currently impossible therefore for each one to cover the cost of their treatment. Even with no dentists' salaries, most dental materials and supplies are only available from and priced by the American and European market, and the lack of electricity in Liberia means high prices for generator fuel. TDC will charge the equivalent of 2-3 USD for its procedures. To cover all costs, however, this method would take several days a week and severely detract from the true purpose of the clinic which is to treat the emergency cases threatening the health of the poor in Liberia. In addition, TDC is seeking its startup capital of approximately $250,000. Capital expenses include expansion of the existing dental clinic at ELWA, outfitting of "satellite" clinic, and a vehicle/ambulance. For additional questions click here. |
